JFSL files are plain-text documents which contain scripting written using the Adobe Flash Javascript API, an extended form of JavaScript that has been modified to allow access to the Flash Document Object Model--the DOM being a core reason that JavaScript is still heavily used today.

These files may be used to automate events in a Flash application or to automate workflows in the development environment.
