HKM files typically contain Havok Movies which have been created with one of the Havok tools or by the Havok game development software. These movies are typically a 3D animation and generally are made to show physics calculations.

Havok movies files may also be used in order to diagnose performance across multiple platforms with tools such as the Havok Visual Debugger.
